Maidens Circle
(Ages 11–15)
The Maidens Circle is a dedicated stream within the Wise Women Gathering, created for young women aged 11–15 who are moving through early rites of passage. It follows its own rhythm and timetable, with sessions designed specifically to support belonging, self-trust and the slow becoming from childhood into maidenhood.
Across the weekend, Maidens gather together in their own sacred space. They learn, reflect, share and build relationships that often extend well beyond the Gathering itself. This is not a scaled-down version of the adult program, but a carefully held journey that honours where they are in life right now.
The Maiden Journey
Through age-appropriate practices, the Maidens explore themes of health, self-care and living in rhythm with nature. Sessions invite curiosity, creativity and connection, offering practical skills alongside space for reflection and group sharing.
In passing on wise medicine traditions, we offer our daughters tools for strength, joy and self-reliance. The Maiden space supports young women to listen to their bodies, value their inner knowing and experience the power of sisterhood in a safe, contained way.
Meals and snacks are included, and all Maidens attend the conference as registered participants.
Holding the Circle - Akua Gutierrez
The Maidens Circle is supported by Akua Gutierrez, a ceremonial facilitator and rites-of-passage guide living on Dharug and Gundungurra land in the Blue Mountains.
Akua brings years of experience working with girls and teens, honouring the gentle transition from childhood into maidenhood. Her work is rooted in ceremony, connection to the earth and the creation of safe, respectful spaces where young women can explore identity, belonging and relationship with nature.
Together in circle, the Maidens are invited to slow down, listen deeply and discover joy in being themselves, alongside one another.
