Lara Ryan is a Naturopath, Herbalist, and Somatic Therapist with over three decades of experience in natural health. Based on Gadigal land in the heart of Sydney, Lara brings a deep, embodied wisdom to her work, grounded in an early apprenticeship to a gifted herbalist and sacred healer in her teens. This foundational experience sparked a lifelong journey in the healing arts that continues to inform her clinical and educational work today.
Lara’s professional training is extensive and multidisciplinary. She holds an Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy, a Bachelor of Health Science in Complementary Medicine, and a Master’s degree in International Public Health. Her diverse academic and practical background has enabled her to work across many spheres of natural medicine, from grassroots community practice to national education initiatives and international public health.
In clinical practice, Lara blends her expertise in naturopathy, herbal medicine, homoeopathy, and somatic therapy to support individuals navigating complex health challenges. Her clients often come to her seeking healing from chronic illnesses, stealth infections, adrenal depletion, and nervous system dysregulation. Lara approaches this work with great depth, intuition, and a trauma-informed lens, always holding the understanding that healing is not simply about the absence of symptoms - but about reclaiming vitality, freedom, and full self-expression.
Beyond her clinical work, Lara is an active contributor to the broader healthcare community. She works with The Herbal Extract Company to support fellow practitioners with clinical insights and herbal wisdom. As an educator, she is a valued faculty member at the Nan Tien Institute in Wollongong, NSW, where she lectures in nutrition within the Master of Mental Health program. Lara is known for her integrative, heart-centred approach to teaching and mentoring, bridging scientific knowledge with soul-aligned care.
