Wise Women Gathering (“WWG”, “the Conference”) is an educational conference rooted in women’s culture and women’s ways of gathering. The focus of the Conference is on women’s health, women’s wellbeing, herbal wisdom, holistic living and the preservation and exploration of Wise Women traditions.

The Gathering is not centred on sexuality or sexual orientation. Some sessions address women-specific health matters, while others engage broader dimensions of wellbeing, land-based knowledge and communal practice.

1. who the conference is for

Wise Women Gathering welcomes:

  • women who identify as women

  • women young and old

  • women of diverse sexualities

  • women of all cultural and religious backgrounds

  • women with all abilities

The Gathering is committed to fostering an environment of inclusion, respect and care across difference.

Children attend the Conference, and WWG seeks to model values of non-judgement, compassion, community, empathy and joy for all participants, including younger generations.

2. women-only space

Wise Women Gathering is a women-only conference.

This decision is grounded in cultural, historical and practical considerations. Across many cultures and time periods, women gathered separately for support, knowledge-sharing, ceremony, healing and celebration. These gatherings supported women’s health, relational bonds and the transmission of embodied and earth-based knowledge.

In contemporary life, many women experience isolation, fragmentation and limited access to such spaces. Wise Women Gathering endeavours to preserve and renew women’s gathering practices in a way that is relevant, ethical and grounded in the present.

3. values and conduct

The women-only nature of the Conference exists to support depth, safety and relational integrity within the Gathering.

All attendees are expected to uphold the values of:

  • respect

  • non-judgement

  • consent and care

  • responsibility for impact

These values are further articulated in the WWG Code of Care, which applies to all participants.

4. policy review

This Gender Policy is a framework that supports the purpose, integrity and inclusivity of Wise Women Gathering.
